GP referrals
Professional Wellbeing welcomes GP referrals for clinical psychological services, under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Scheme, which attracts a rebate of $137.05 (current at 1 January 2024) per session.
Please complete the Mental Health Care Plan and recommend your client contact Professional Wellbeing directly.
Fees and rebates
Fees are charged at a discounted rate compared to the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended fee of $300 per standard 45 to 60 minute session. Note: Appointments outside of business hours (9am–4pm, Mon to Fri) are billed at out-of-business-hours rates – an additional $20 per standard session.
Fees include the following services:
- Face-to-face therapy time with clients
- Outside-of-session treatment and session planning
- Materials
- Brief (up to 10 minutes) phone consultations
- Referral calls
- Brief consultation with health professionals, if appropriate
- Written correspondence with GP/insurer
Medico legal reports, meeting and court attendance, and behaviour management plans are billed at a separate hourly rate.
Fees are payable by cash, credit or debit card with EFTPOS. HICAPS facilities are available in the practice, which means private health insurance claims can be made on the spot, leaving only the gap payment to be paid by credit card or eftpos.
Fees are payable after each session.
