No. Appointments for private consultations can be made directly, without a referral. Professional Wellbeing accepts client referrals from GPs and other referral sources, for short- and longer-term treatment.
At Professional Wellbeing, fees are charged at a discounted rate compared to the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended fee of $260 per standard 50-minute session, during standard business hours. Appointments outside of business hours are billed at out-of-business-hours rates – an additional $20 per standard session.
The all-inclusive session fee includes the following services:
- Face-to-face therapy time with client
- Outside-of-session treatment and session planning
- Materials
- Brief (up to 10 minutes) phone consultations
- Referral calls, if applicable
- Brief consultation with health professionals, if appropriate
- Written correspondence with GP/insurer, if applicable
Fees are payable by cash, credit or debit card with EFTPOS. If you have been referred, under the under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Scheme, full fees are to be paid upfront. Following payment, the refund will be rebated into your nominated cheque or savings account. Fees are payable after each session.
Yes. Professional Wellbeing is a registered provider of clinical psychological services. Most major health funds cover clinical psychology. Claims can be processed, on fee payment, with HICAPS facilities are available at the practice.
